Hey...

Well, it's been a long while. I hope everyone had a lovely holiday season! Despite the busy-ness, I had a great time with family and friends. Working in retail tends to make a person numb to the holiday festivities, but I managed to rise above that this year and have a bit of fun.

I haven't posted much because of the frenzy. But also because my camera wasn't downloading my photos and I don't like posting unless I have something nice for you to look at. So tonight I said a little prayer..."If this doesn't work tonight, I promise to take the camera in for repairs"...

Guess what? Pictures, y'all. Thank you, thank you, goddess of digital cameras!

This is one of the yarns I received for January's Yarn of the Month samples. It is Cotton Denim by Debbie Bliss. I like this yarn. It's going to be a cozie for my cell phone. I saw a segment on DIY's Knitty Gritty where they were knitting cozies for everything. And since I wanted to do something with the samples I get every month, I thought a cozy would be quick and easy...no pattern, no thought.

On the show, they knit an I-Pod cozy and used one of those double beaded ponytail holders as the fastener to close up the top. I think I'm going to rummage through my bead supplies and create something doublesided instead.

As for my other projects, I've been slowly finishing up my niece's haiku. And have gifted a couple of scarves and beanies. Speaking of my niece, here is little Jordyn in the baby beanie I knit for her a few months ago. I finally was able to get her to hold still for a second to snap this photo...

She is a doll! I think I'll be knitting a lot for this baby!
